Review

The most recent title in the famous soccer videogame series developed by Konami is Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. In the game cover Cristiano Ronaldo and a local player (Michael Owen in the UK, Didier Drogba in France, Jan Schlaudraff in Germany, Gianluigi Buffon in Italy, Lucas Neill in Australia) can be seen. A new AI system has been implemented, a really sophisticated AI programming that learns and changes according to an individual's style of play. Thus, this new AI adapts to new ways in building attacks and specific movements to react on previous attacking or defensive errors, making matches appear more in line with the tactical and flowing nature of the real soccer game. The game was released for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS.
The game presents 20 teams in the D1 and D2 Leagues, four more than in past editions.

The game's 'in-game editor' however, has been downgraded as compared to previous versions, and players are now unable to add text to team shirts or copy specific players.
The demo lets you play an exhibition game in five difficulty levels and against six teams: Brazil, Argentina, France, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey.
Advantages
  • Great graphics and amazing AI.
Disadvantages
  • The editor has been downgraded and is not as good as in previous versions.
  • Discontinued in favour of PES 09.
